Paul Pelosi, the husband of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, was arrested on May 28th for a DUI. It has been over two weeks since his release, yet the authorities in California have refused to release any of the body cam footage involving the arrest saying that it could “jeopardize” the investigation.
On Thursday public record requests seeking the release of body cam and dashboard footage of Paul Pelosi’s arrest were denied by the California Highway Patrol.
Fox News reported that the California Highway Patrol has the footage of the arrest, ““however, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office has advised the release of records would jeopardize an ongoing investigation.”
As well on Thursday the District Attorney’s Office said that they have not yet decided what charges or if any will be filed against Paul Pelosi. The agency stated, “This is standard protocol in any DUI case that is referred by a law enforcement agency in Napa County… No decision has been made at this time. Any speculation to the contrary is incorrect.”
The DA’s response was in light of a mass of social media posts claiming that Paul Pelosi’s charges had been dropped.
The Napa County District Attorney’s Office Facebook page released this statement:
