In his Friday night episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight the Fox News host suggested a brilliant idea for the producers and crew members of Stephen Colbert’s Late Night Show who were allegedly arrested for being in the Capitol building after hours without authorization.
Citing the principle of equal justice, Tucker Carlson suggested that “Stephen Colbert’s producers just committed insurrection at the US Capitol,” and suggested that they should be locked up in “solitary confinement” for a year and a half, just like other Trump supporters have been locked in solitary confinement without trial or conviction.
“We learned that last night producers for Stephen Colbert’s show on CBS committed insurrection at the United States Capitol,” Carlson said. “The point of them being there was to harass sitting members of Congress — Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert.” He added.
Then he added that these Colbert staffers were charged with unlawful entry into the capitol building. “That’s the exact same charge that many January 6 defendants face,” he noted. “We’ll just get right to it: It’s likely that some members of Stephen Colbert’s team will be held in solitary confinement for a year and a half without being charged. Why? Because this is an insurrection.” He continued.
“Joking aside, how could they not be held for a year and a half in solitary confinement without being charged?” Tucker continued. “Because the precedent is in place. And how in the world can Adam Schiff, again, who spent the last year and a half eliminating the civil liberties of Trump voters on the basis of January 6, do the exact same thing and not face punishment?” He remarked.

There are various reports and investigations conducted by mostly independent journalists, and court documents that reveal that the D.C. detention center is using unlawful and unconstitutional techniques against some of the Trump supporters arrested in the January 6th protest.
There have been multiple allegations that the Capitol Police did not attempt to stop the protestors from entering the building and House Speaker Pelosi denied President Trump’s offer to have National Guards assist in the security of the Capitol building on 1/6.
