The Democrat mayor of Washington D.C., who is apparently an open border activist, is now appealing to the federal government to prevent the red states from sending busses full of illegal immigrants into her jurisdiction.
In her Sunday appearance on CBS News’s Face The Nation, host Margaret Brennan asked Muriel Bowser if the influx of illegal immigrants was overwhelming the city services.
“The Washington Post reported last week that homeless shelters in DC were filling up and groups are getting overwhelmed by these buses that the governors of Texas and Arizona are sending here full of migrants. How significant is this influx? How many people?” Brennan asked Bowser.
To which Bowser responded, “This is a very significant issue. We have for sure called on the federal government to work across state lines to prevent people from really being tricked into getting on buses.”
“We think they’re largely asylum seekers who are going to final destinations that are not Washington DC I worked with the White House to make sure that FEMA provided a grant to a local organization that is providing services to folks, but I fear that they’re being tricked into nationwide bus trips when their final destinations are places all over the United States of America,” Bowser added.

The “influx” of immigrants as discussed here originates from the red states like Texas and Arizona sending illegal immigrants who have crossed their state borders to Washington D.C. as a pushback against Joe Biden’s decision to open the country’s Southern borders.
The states of Texas and Arizona were the most affected by Biden’s decision as the illegal immigrants were destroying private ranches and were responsible for an influx in crime rates.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced in April that the lone star state will be sending charter busses to D.C. “To help local officials whose communities are being overwhelmed by hordes of illegal immigrants who are being dropped off by the Biden administration,” Gov. Abbott added, “Texas is providing charter buses to send these illegal immigrants … to Washington, D.C.”
“We are sending them to the United States’ Capitol where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border,” Abbott continued in his announcement.
According to official reports, the two states combined have sent at least 79 busses and have transported more than 2,000 illegal immigrants to Washington D.C.
Mayor Bowser and her fellow Democrats who are always pushing for open border legislation can now experience the devastating effects first-hand thanks to Texas and Arizona. But it appears that they are not too sympathetic to illegal immigrants in their own jurisdiction as they are in Republican states.
Unlike Arizona and Texas, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis announced back in April that the state’s legislature is proposing a $12 million budget bill for the Florida Department of Transportation to send ask illegal immigrants in the Sunshine State to Delaware or Martha’s Vineyard where Joe Biden and Barack Obama’s private residences are located. This way, the most vocal open border ambassadors in the country can immediately address their needs.
