A federal judge has sided with Home Depot for banning workers from wearing “Black Lives Matter” logos on their uniforms ruling that it was appropriate enforcement of the company’s uniform code and not an infringement of labor rights as the defendant National Labor Relations Board argued.
Judge Paul Bogas said in his ruling that the BLM messaging and imagery “originated, and is primarily used, to address the unjustified killings of Black individuals by law enforcement and vigilantes” and that it had nothing to do with the work conditions or labor rights at Home Depot protected as “concerted” labor activity.
“For the reasons previously discussed with respect to the Respondent’s nationwide interpretation of the dress code prohibition, BLM messaging is not inherently concerted,” the judge wrote on Friday. “Nor does it have an objective, and sufficiently direct, relationship to terms and conditions of employment to fall within the mutual aid and protection clause.” He added.
This ruling was a subject of a mass liberal outcry across the country. This is not the first time that a Home Depot-related decision has triggered the left. Back in 2019, the company’s Billionaire co-founder, Bernie Marcus who retired as chairman in 2022 expressed his support for then-president Donald Trump and made public that he will be donating to his re-election campaign.
This led to another leftist outrage and the mob attempted to cancel the company with a Twitter trending #BoycottHomeDepot hashtag.
“He’s got a businessman’s common sense approach to most things,” Marcus said about President Trump. “Now, do I agree with every move that he makes? No, I don’t. But the truth is he has produced more than anybody else. He has. If we look at this country, I would say that we are better off today than we were eight years ago or six years ago.” He added.
