Golden State Warriors Head Coach, Steve Kerr, demanded that GOP senators pass stricter gun laws in the United States hours after the deadly massacre in Uvalde, Texas. Nineteen elementary school children and two teachers were shot and killed.
“When are we going to do something! I am sick and tired of offering condolences to the families that are out there, I am tired of the moments of silence. Enough!” Kerr said pregame to Game 4 versus the Mavericks in Dallas, Texas.
Famous journalist Clay Travis responded to Steve Kerr’s press conference where he didn’t answer any questions and had different views about school safety only two years ago.
“Steve Kerr, who las night demanded new gun laws to keep kids safe, protested to demand the removal of all armed police from schools two years ago,” Travis Tweeted and added the NBC news article of Kerr’s comments in late June of 2020.
Nbcbayarea.com reported, “Kerr joined dozens of Oakland Unified School district parents and students who are calling for the district to dismantle its internal police force.”
“You really have to listen to the community in terms of what’s happening and what’s best for the community. That’s what the community is calling for and I’m all in support of that,” Kerr said in June 2020.
Clay Travis first criticized his colleagues in the media who did not even question Steve Kerr’s contradictory statements.
Then Travis continued his Twitter thread, “Kerr, presently being hailed as a hero by left wing sports media, is actually a coward emblematic of many on a social media. He has passionate opinions on whatever people are emotional about, even if it directly contradicts his prior emotional opinions.”
“Regardless, there are many people with many valid opinions on this issue. Steve Kerr is not one of them He’s a complete hypocrite. Maybe now he’d like to rescind his past support for defunding and removing police from schools. But the fact no media asked him is shameful cowardice,” Finishing off his thread.
The killer broke a multiplicity of gun laws in the first place. Making more gun laws will only allow perpetrators to commit similarly heinous crimes just by breaking more gun laws.
The future position of the GOP on this stance is to prioritize security among all our schools in America. Despite Steve Kerr’s condemnation of police in our schools.
