BREAKING: Senator Rand Paul BLASTS Mitch McConnell for Allegedly Conspiring a “Secret Deal” With the Biden White House and Democrats!

On Monday Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul accused Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of being a part of “a secret deal with the White House that fell apart,” and is criticizing the minority leader for lack of communication for the failure of a federal judicial nomination.

The White House last week nominated anti-abortion lawyer Chad Meredith for a federal judgeship in Kentucky.

Senator Paul on Monday spoke to reporters about his decision to block this judicial nominee and blasted McConnell in the process.

“This was McConnell doing a secret deal behind the scenes to get something he wanted, without any consultation,” he told NBC News.

Paul claims that he did not have any objection to Meredith’s nomination but he was objecting to McConnell’s tactics. He further alleged that the Minority Leader never briefed him about the nomination and he first heard about it through an FBI call requesting a background check.

“Senator McConnell — he thought it was beneath himself to actually talk to me. Senator McConnell sabotaged this by doing it in secret.” He told NBC News.

“I support Chad Meredith and supported him when he was considered for a different position. I think he would make a good judge. Unfortunately, instead of communicating and lining up support for him, Senator McConnell chose to cut a secret deal with the White House that fell apart,” Paul fired at McConnell in a tweet.

This is not the first time that Kentucky’s two Republican senators are going back and forth, reigniting a public intraparty and intrastate fight.

Back when Candidate Paul first ran for Senate in 2010, he defeated McConnell’s endorsed Republican candidate, Trey Grayson. Senator Paul is since known as one of the most conservative senators in Congress and has voted against McConnell on many spending and foreign policy issues.
