“President” Joe Biden’s top medical adviser, 81-year-old Dr. Anthony Fauci, has tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms, according to the National Institute of Health. Fauci is fully vaccinated and has both booster shots.
Fauci has not reportedly had close contact with Biden or any other government officials recently and is isolated and will continue to work from home.
Fauci was scheduled to testify on Thursday before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee on the current state of and response to COVID-19.
Fauci isn’t the only member of the Biden administration who has gotten COVID-19, despite the supposed lengths they go to to not get COVID-19. Vice President Kamala Harris, former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo all have tested positive for COVID-19.
Forty-fifth President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr. reacted to the news on Twitter, writing, “Breaking News: Anthony Fauci has COVID. He’s octuple vaccinated and quadruple masked, and yet the ‘rona still found a way. SCIENCE!”

Fauci tested positive with the Covid variants BA.2.12.1. and now BA.4 and BA.5, which are reportedly able to evade the protection of a vaccination or booster shot.
“Fauci has, for many, been the face of the fight against Covid-19 in the United States over the past two years, playing a leading role in the country’s response as well as being its face on TV and online via streamed semi-regular WH Covid Response Team meetings,” Deadline reported.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, of which Fauci is the director, made the announcement today, reading, “He is fully vaccinated and has been boosted twice. He is currently experiencing mild symptoms. Dr. Fauci will isolate and continue to work from his home. He has not recently been in close contact with President Biden or other senior government officials.”
“Dr. Fauci will follow the COVID-19 guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and medical advice from his physician and return to the NIH when he tests negative,” the statement adds.
